Geophysics Results
Some plots of our recent geophysics investigations in Stoke Gifford.
Our geophysics equipment passes an electrical current into the ground. If the current flows easily there is less resistance and in these plots shows as the lighter areas. Those areas where the current flows less easily are darker. The darker areas indicate drier soil, usually because of geological features or brick or stone structures.
Site 1
Here you can see a number of vertical alignments that coincide with
the crop marks in the field and an unsual linear feature in the
bottom right hand corner of the plot.
Site 2
An old map shows buildings on this site and a clear plot of what appears to be a corner of the building is shown in the bottom left hand corner of the plot. The black area in the top right hand corner has not been explored.
